John's Hall Foot Bridge - Montego Bay, Jamaica
Completed in 1992 this painting is typical of the kind of scenes that was captured by Neville Budhai throughout the island. If you have ever been to Jamaica you'll notice that nature frames the landscape in wondrous beauty.
Old San Juan, Puerto Rico
Completed in 1985, this painting captured the street scene of Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. It's cobble streets and brightly painted buildings deliver us a glimpse of this beautiful city in the Caribbean.
Jamaica Festival "Ska"
Completed in 1971, this painting captured what was the music of the times, "Ska", or simply the music that evolved into what is now known as reggae. Budhai's use of colors, shadows and what seems to be "endless lines" was a style that he perfected over the decades. Everything in the painting is connected creating the sound, the smiles and the rhythm.
